The Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal is Penang Port’s latest and most significant addition after a major rebuild in 2010. The new pier accommodates Quantumclass cruise ships, with the main berth capable of handling larger cruise vessels. Among the huge liners that have called at the port are Quantum of The Seas and Ovation of The Seas by the Royal Caribbean Cruisers, and the luxury liner Queen Elizabeth.
In addition, other notable cruise operators such as Costa Crociere, Princess Cruises and Celebrity Cruises have also been frequenting Penang Port. The total number of international calls to the port by the end of 2018 was 176, with a passenger load of more than 341,000.
